Walking through my living room yesterday I happened to glance outside and saw something on the net enclosure of our trampoline. You know, the trampoline where my kids play, sometimes getting in trouble because they didn't ask me first. Thankfully, yesterday was not a day for playing outside.
"What is that on the trampoline?" I thought, and went on the back porch to check it out. I should have called my friends over to have a field trip to my house because this was the craziest spider I've ever seen outside of a museum. Of course I took the kids out to see it - don't worry, we kept our distance!
This spider was about 5 inches from tip to tip and the web it had built was about 5 feet across!
See that blob just to the right of the tree on the left? That is what I saw when I glanced outside. Heeby geeby time! On the way back inside I also found one of those fuzzy brown spiders we get all the time that was about 3 inches with a 1 inch diameter egg sack attached! Blehhblbphfff!
Fortunately I was able to watch the second half of "The Proposal" with Sandra Bullock and all of "Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion" before I went to bed so my mind was sufficiently full of nonsense and I didn't have any creep crawly dreams.
