Win this!

This is handcrafted box one of the prizes you could win at my New Catalog Reveal Party & Retired Item Sale! For details on raffle entries please see Tuesday's blog post.

I constructed this box out of Crumb Cake card stock (formerly Kraft) to hold at least six cards in the top and six envelopes in the drawer at the bottom. I used retired Cottage Wall Designer Paper, which is now available in updated colors and a new name - Sunny Garden! (item #119831)

The lid latches shut with some linen thread (item# 104199) that wraps around designer buttons threaded with brads. The handle for the drawer was constructed using the Word Window Punch (item# 119857) and a couple brads.

The butterflies were cut and embossed in one step using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die (item# 118138) and the Big Shot (item# 113439).

After inserting a couple rhinestone brads to support the wings and add some bling, I covered the entire butterfly in Crystal Effects glue (item# 101055) which dries to a clear glossy shine and adds some stiffness and stability to 3-D objects. Because Crystal Effects is such a strong glue it was also a great choice for attaching the butterfly to the box.

If you'd like to win this box and matching card set or other fabulous prizes just attend my New Catalog Release Party and eat some of my delicious homemade pralines while you're there! Keep checking back here for more sneak peaks into the prizes up for grabs!

I almost forgot... I CASE'd (Copy and Share Everything) this box from Renee over at Check out her original!

  4. Thanks Heather! That card was sooo easy to make, and I really like how it turned out. I need to get that paper in the new colors b/c I love the patterns.

Deanna - thank you! Yes, crystal effects and I are become good buddies lately. Love that stuff. Yeah, I think that embosslit and the simple flower are the best of the little dies.
