She wore an itsy bitsy teeny weeny pink polkadot...

Dress! I had fun making this flirty and feminine card with the retiring set "Humor in High Heels" (item #116652). I almost cried when I saw this set on the retiring list!

Once upon a time in a home not far away and not very long ago I professed that I hated using scissors to cut anything out and that I thought people who did were slightly insane. As you can see, joining Stampin' Up! as a demonstrator has definitely affected my sanity. I stamped the image on Pink Pirouette pattern paper (returning in color - yay!) and cut it out. Then I colored in the area inside the hanger with my white Uniball Gel Pen (item #105021) so you wouldn't see the pattern paper through that part of the stamp. I thought that was pretty clever. I've also discovered that my Uniball pen works as whiteout on a botched journaling box in a scrapbook since it's safe for photos.

I got to use my brand spankin' new Ovals Big Shot die (item #114525) to double matte the dress. I covered the dress in Crystal Effects (item#101055)and let it dry to give it a glossy shine.

For the inside of the card I returned to one of my most used sets, On a Pedestal (item#113814) featured in yesterday's post. I got the two tone effect by coloring on the stamp with Stampin' Write markers, then "huffing" on the stamp to re-moisten it before stamping. Come to class if you want to try out this technique for yourself!
